Pre-Order

With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.

Your Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up; ready for collection via Click & Collect or despatch to you — it often never even hits the stock room shelves!

Pre-Launch

With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.

So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.

Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates

Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates are given on Pre-Order and Pre-Launch products. They are for indication purposes only and can change at any time without notice.

The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates provided on product pages.

We estimate this will be ready for despatch to you or collection via Click & Collect on Undetermined

Hassle free returns

At Crib Goch Outdoor we want you to be completely happy with what you buy. If something isn't right, you can send it back. You have 28 days from the day your online order arrives, or 14 days from the date of purchase if you bought it in one of our shops.

Please include a completed Returns Form with your parcel. One comes with your order, but you can download another below. It helps us find your order and process your refund quickly.

Reason for Returning

Refunds +

Changed your mind? Send an online order back within 28 days and we'll refund you. Bought it in one of our shops? Bring it back to that shop within 14 days.

You can use our Royal Mail label, in which case £4 is deducted from your refund to cover it, or use any postal service you like at your own cost. We'd recommend a tracked one — until the parcel reaches us it's your responsibility, and we can't be held responsible for returns lost or damaged on the way. Keep your proof of postage.

Refunds go back to the card or account you originally paid with. We aim to confirm we've received your return within 2 working days, and to refund within 14 days of it reaching us.

If you're cancelling an online order within 14 days of receiving it, we'll also refund the basic cost of the original delivery, and we'll process the refund within 14 days of either receiving the goods back or you sending us proof of postage — whichever comes first. By proof of postage we mean a postage or tracking receipt showing a parcel was sent to our returns address, along with your order number.

We check and record the contents of every return when it arrives. If a parcel doesn't contain what you told us you were sending, we'll be in touch, and any refund already paid is recoverable.

Knives & Axes can NOT be returned using this service. Knives and axes can only be returned using Royal Mail's Click & Drop, selecting the age verification service, which you are required to do by law before shipping bladed items. Royal Mail will not accept knives or axes over the counter — it must be done online.

Want a different size or colour? +

We don't run an exchange service — but there's a faster way to get what you want.

Place a new order for the size, colour or product you'd like, and send the original back to us for a refund. Your replacement then ships straight away, instead of waiting for your return to reach us, be inspected and be processed. In practice that's several days quicker, and it means you secure the item before it sells out.

We know it sounds like the long way round. It isn't.

Your refund on the returned item follows the normal rules: it needs to reach us within the period above, in the condition described below, and not be one of the items we can't take back.

If you do send something back asking for an exchange, we'll refund it and let you know.

In our shops we can process a refund and a new purchase together at the till, so a straight size swap is no trouble at all — just bring it back to the shop you bought it from, within 14 days.

Sale & Clearance Items +

Bought online? Sale items get exactly the same 28 days as everything else, and the same full refund. We don't shorten the window just because something was reduced.

Bought in one of our shops? Sale items can be returned to that shop within 14 days for a credit note rather than a refund. You can spend a credit note straight away, so if you've simply picked the wrong size you can swap it there and then. Credit notes last 12 months and can be used in either shop or online.

What counts as a sale item? Simple: the ticket says Sale, Clearance or Outlet. If it doesn't say so, it isn't one.

These do not make something a sale item: a discount code at checkout, a Customer Rewards redemption, a staff, club or group discount, a price match, or a multibuy or Star Buy offer. Sale items are marked on the product page online and on the ticket in our shops, and your receipt records it.

Faulty is faulty. If a sale item develops a fault, your rights are exactly the same as on a full-price item — see "Your legal rights" below.

Your legal rights – and what we add on top +

Two things run alongside each other. Where they differ, whichever is better for you applies.

Whatever you're sending back, we ask that it reaches us unused, unworn, clean and dry, with tags attached and the original packaging complete and fit for resale. What happens if it doesn't depends on when and how you bought it.

Days 1–14 (online, phone and Click & Collect orders): your legal right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of receiving your order, and you then have another 14 days to send it back. We'll refund the price you paid plus the basic cost of the original delivery. You're entitled to handle the goods as you would in our shop — unpack them, look at them, try a jacket on. If you go further than that and the value drops, we may deduct something to reflect it, and if the item can't be sold on that could be most or all of what you paid. We'll tell you the amount and why. But we won't turn the return away, and we don't charge restocking fees.

Days 15–28: our own returns promise. This is on top of the law rather than something it requires, so the conditions above apply in full and we may decline a return that doesn't meet them.

Faulty goods: separate again, and not limited to 28 days. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you can reject faulty goods and get a full refund within 28 days of receiving them, including the cost of getting them back to us. After 28 days you're entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that doesn't work, a refund or price reduction. Most of what we sell also carries a manufacturer's guarantee of at least 12 months — that's in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them, and your rights don't stop when the guarantee does.

Bought in the shop? There's no legal right to change your mind on an in-person purchase — our 14 days is a promise we make, not something the law requires. Faulty goods rights apply in exactly the same way.

You don't need to use our form to cancel. Any clear message telling us you want to cancel is enough — email [email protected], call us on 01286 870 777, or write to us.

Ice axes & crampons +

Yes, you can return them. Open the box, have a proper look, and try crampons against your boots indoors on a clean floor — exactly as you would in one of our shops. If they're not right, send them back.

What we can't do is resell equipment that's been used. Ice axes and crampons are classed as personal protective equipment, and as a retailer we have to be able to account for how anything we sell has been stored and handled. We can't do that for an axe that's been out on the hill, so it can't go back on the shelf — it gets quarantined and destroyed.

So what you get back depends on the state it reaches us in:

ConditionRefund
Sealed and unopenedFull price
Opened and tried indoors, unused, tags and instructions presentFull price
Unused, but tags, instructions or packaging missingFull price less an ex-display deduction
Any sign of use, sharpening, filing, impact, wear or soiling — or the batch number is goneNo refund

If we do make a deduction we'll tell you the amount and why, in writing.

Buying ahead for the winter? Try crampons on indoors over the boots you'll actually wear, as soon as they arrive, rather than leaving the box until February. That's the only fit check that matters, and it keeps your return open.

Things we can't take back +

Unless they're faulty, we can't accept:

  • personalised, made-to-order or special order items;
  • underwear, briefs, boxers, socks and face coverings where the hygiene seal or packaging has been opened;
  • food and other perishable goods;
  • sealed audio, video or software once the seal is broken.

A few things need extra care if you might want to return them:

  • Tents, awnings and shelters — once pitched outdoors a tent isn't new and unused, so we can't take it back. Pitching indoors on a clean floor to check the fit is fine. If you're unsure about size, come and see one in a shop.
  • Footwear — please return boots and shoes inside an outer box or bag. Shoe boxes marked with tape, postage labels or writing will be sent back to you.
  • Electronics — GPS units and watches can come back before they're registered or activated. Afterwards we can't restore them to stock, so any refund is reduced to reflect that.
  • Gas canisters and fuels — can't be returned by post, because carriage of dangerous goods is restricted. Unopened canisters can come back to the shop you bought them from.
  • Down and technical fabrics — try things on indoors, over clean clothing.

Where an item can't be returned, we say so on its product page before you buy.

Where can I return it? +
How you bought itIn our shopsBy post
Online or by phoneEither shopYes
Click & CollectEither shopYes
In one of our shopsThe shop you bought it fromNo

Our two shops hold their own stock and take their own payments, so a shop purchase needs to come back to the till where the sale was made, within 14 days. Please bring your receipt, or your Customer Rewards details so we can find the transaction, and the card you paid with. Shop purchases can't be returned by post.

Faulty items are different. If something has developed a fault you can bring it to either shop, or send it back to us, whichever is easier — it doesn't matter where or how you bought it.

Ordered online and collected in store? That still counts as an online order. You get the full 14-day legal right to cancel, running from the day you collect, plus our 28-day promise, and you can return it to either shop or by post — including ice axes and crampons.

International Returns +

If you're returning goods from outside the UK you MUST mark the parcel and customs paperwork as "Returned Goods" to avoid customs charges. If customs charges are incurred on entry into the UK we can't pay these and your goods will be sent back to you — in most cases the courier won't refund your postage costs. You're responsible for the cost of returning goods to us. Refunds on international orders cover the goods only, not the original shipping.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Orders +

Please get in touch before sending a faulty or damaged item back — we'll cover the return postage, but only if we've arranged it with you first. You can also bring it into either shop. See "For faulty or damaged items" below.

Extended Christmas Returns +

We extend our returns window over Christmas. Anything bought between 1 November 2026 and 24 December 2026 can be returned up to 14 January 2027, as long as it meets the usual conditions in our returns policy and Terms & Conditions. Buying a gift? Ask for a gift receipt, so the person receiving it can bring it back for a credit note.

We offer convenient returns on orders to the UK mainland through Royal Mail. If your returned parcel is over 61cm x 46cm x 46cm you may not be able to use this method and additional charges may apply. If you can't use these options, or would simply prefer not to, you're welcome to return the order using your own shipping method. Please make sure the service you use matches the size, weight and value of the item. We can't be held responsible for returned goods that are lost or damaged in transit, so we strongly recommend a recorded or insured service — and keep your proof of postage.

How to arrange your return

For unwanted items

1. Check you received the item within the last 28 days, or bought it in one of our shops within the last 14 (or that you're inside our extended Christmas period).
2. Check the product is in its original condition, including tags and any packaging that came with it.
3. Print, complete and include the Returns Form. No printer? Use it as a guide and write us a note with your order number, name and what you'd like us to do.
4. Package the item carefully using protective outer packaging. Please don't tape or stick anything to the product box — it needs to be resold.
5. For UK returns using our label, create your Royal Mail label here. If your parcel is outside the available size you'll need to arrange your own return service. No printer? Create the label using the link and show the QR code on your phone at the Post Office. (If Royal Mail's website isn't working, try clearing your cache or a different browser — or just call us on 01286 870 777 and we'll create a label for you.)
6. For international returns, or UK returns not using our label, please use your own method — we're unable to cover the cost.
7. Take your parcel to the Post Office, or book a Royal Mail Parcel Collect pick-up by clicking here.
8. Until the item reaches us it's your responsibility, so please package it well and consider insurance from the courier if you're not using our label.
9. We aim to confirm we've received your item(s) within 2 working days, and where possible we'll confirm the refund at the same time.

For faulty or damaged items

1. Find your proof of purchase (email or physical receipt).
2. Contact us as soon as you can, by emailing [email protected] or calling 01286 870 777, with details of the fault. Photos help. We'll send you a Returns Form to complete. You're also welcome to bring the item into either shop.
3. We'll then tell you the next step. Please don't return items before we've confirmed — we'll provide a FREE returns label if we need the item back, and we can't refund return postage you've arranged yourself unless we agreed it first. We may need to send the item to the manufacturer or an independent testing house, which can take up to four weeks. We'll keep you posted.

Returns Contract +

We are unable to handle and inspect returned items unless they are clean and dry, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This applies in particular to outdoor clothing and footwear.

Your right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the legal right to cancel an order placed online, by telephone or by Click & Collect within 14 days of receiving or collecting your goods. You do not need to give a reason and there is no penalty. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us, at your own cost and risk. Made-to-order items are excluded.

Our returns promise. To make things easier, we accept returns of unwanted goods up to 28 days after the day you receive an online order, or 14 days after the date of purchase in one of our shops. You need not contact us before returning an online item for a refund — we will treat the return of the item(s) as cancelling the order, assuming all other conditions in our returns policy and Terms & Conditions are met.

Condition. Whenever you return goods, we ask that they reach us unused, unworn, clean and dry, with all tags and labels attached, in their original packaging, complete and fit for resale, and protected by an outer bag or box. What happens if they do not depends on when and how you bought them. During the first 14 days of an online order you are entitled to handle goods as you would in one of our shops in order to see whether they are right for you — unpacking them, examining them, trying clothing on. If you go further than that and their value is reduced, we may deduct an amount from your refund to reflect the reduction, and where goods can no longer be sold that deduction may be most or all of what you paid; we will tell you the amount and the reason. We will not refuse the return during this period, and we do not charge restocking fees. From day 15 onwards, and for all shop purchases, these periods are our own promise rather than a legal requirement, so the conditions apply in full and returns that do not meet them may be declined or a deduction made.

Where returns can be made. Online, telephone and Click & Collect orders may be returned to either shop or by post. Purchases made in person in one of our shops must be returned to that shop and cannot be returned by post. This applies to changes of mind only — faulty goods may be brought to either shop or returned by post, however they were bought.

Exchanges. We do not operate an exchange service. If you would like a different size, colour or product, please place a new order and return the original for a refund. Any goods sent back to us requesting an exchange will be refunded in line with this policy. In our shops we can process a refund and a new purchase in the same transaction.

Goods you cannot cancel. Personalised, made-to-order or special order items; underwear, briefs, boxers, socks and face coverings where the hygiene seal or packaging has been opened; perishable goods including food; sealed audio, video or software once unsealed; gas canisters and fuels; GPS units, watches and similar electronics once registered or activated. Non-returnable items are identified on their product pages.

Personal protective equipment. Ice axes and crampons may be opened, examined and tried for fit indoors, and returned in the ordinary way. Where equipment shows any sign of use, sharpening, filing, impact, wear, soiling or modification, or where the batch or serial number is missing or illegible, we cannot lawfully return it to stock. It has no resale value to us and will be quarantined and destroyed. Where you are cancelling under the Regulations we will deduct the full price from your refund and confirm the deduction and reason in writing; otherwise we will decline the return.

Refunds. Where you cancel under the Regulations, we will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back or of you supplying proof of postage, whichever is sooner, together with the basic cost of the original delivery. Enhanced delivery options are refunded only up to the value of our standard service. For returns under our 28-day promise, we refund within 14 days of receiving the goods. Refunds are made to the original payment method. Where a shop purchase was paid for in cash and a cash refund is requested, we may need a little notice for security reasons. For orders shipped outside the UK, a refund is given on the goods only and not the shipping cost.

Packaging. Goods must be returned with all packaging intact and complete and fit for resale. Tape, labels and glue must not be applied directly to product packaging, as this causes damage that affects resale. Returned goods are inspected on arrival and we may deduct the cost of any such damage from the amount refunded.

Sale items. An item is a sale item if it was ticketed, displayed or listed as Sale, Clearance or Outlet at the time of purchase. Sale items bought online are covered by our full 28-day promise and are refunded in the usual way. Sale items bought in one of our shops may be returned to that shop within 14 days for a credit note, valid 12 months and usable immediately, rather than a refund; this is stated on the ticket at the point of sale and on your receipt. Faulty goods rights are unaffected.

Faulty goods. Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You may reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days of receipt, including the cost of returning them to us; after that you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and to a refund or price reduction if that is unsuccessful.

For international customers returning goods, you must mark the parcel and customs form clearly as "Returned Goods" in order to avoid customs charges. If customs charges are incurred on entry into the UK we will not be responsible for paying these and your goods will be returned to you; in most cases the courier will not refund your postage costs.

Paramo Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Páramo logo changing? +

Yes, Paramo is making a change to the way their Branding is displayed on their garments and it will take some time for their product images to reflect this, since they will be phasing out the old with the new.

How do I look after this Páramo item? +

Water repellency can be inhibited by dirt and residues left by normal washing detergents. It is therefore important to always use a soap based product such as Nikwax Tech Wash®to clean your item and revive water repellency. This item works best if it is water repellent.

If, after cleaning, the fabric still absorbs water it’s time to reproof your item using Nikwax TX.Direct®. This can be very easily done at home using your normal washing machine.

Green to Clean, Purple for Proofing! Learn how the pro's do it by reading our Comprehensive How to Reproof Your Jacket: The Best Step-by-Step Guide blog post.

Still got some questions about Paramo, have a read of Your Ultimate FAQs Guide to Paramo Clothing – Everything You Need to Know

What if I damage my Páramo clothing? +

Simple repairs can often be done with a needle and thread without compromising the performance of your garment. If it is seriously damaged, you can send it back to Páramo and request a quote for having it repaired. Our Customer Service team can advise you.

  • I think a small Bentu jacket is the right size for my chest 38cm but concerned about the arm length, I'll use it for cycling. What do you think?
Question asked by dave on 08/05/2025 12:37:45
A small sounds like the correct size for you, but if you often find arms are a little short for your size then I would recommend the Enduro Windproof, it's been designed around activities like climbing so the arms are longer.
