About Keen
Driven by a passion to make the outside and trades accessible for all, KEEN is a values-led, family-owned footwear brand from Portland, Oregon committed to creating original and versatile products, enhancing lives, and inspiring adventures outside. KEEN is about getting outside and connecting with each other and the earth we live on. KEEN is not an Outdoor brand. Outdoor brands are about the solo adventure. Traveling far for a few minutes of rush. KEEN is an Outside brand. KEEN is about living outside everyday. Monday through Sunday. Rain and shine. Work and play. Making the most of the time we spend together on this planet and protecting this place for future generations. It’s about making our mark on the world by removing our mark.
History
Founded in 2003, it launched a revolution in the industry with the debut of the Newport adventure sandal. It continues to launch game-changing products and establish new standards for performance, comfort, and design while actively working to Detox the Planet. The brand formalized its values commitment under the banner of The KEEN Effect.
Sustainability
Every step is a choice: to try or not try, to do something…or not. And as a company full of people who care, KEEN wants to do more, as they stop and consider the impact of the choices they make every day. KEEN’s conscious approach goes into everything they do—from how they built their headquarters in Portland, OR, and give back to their communities, to how they construct the products.
Technology
Feet come first at KEEN. KEEN protect them, keep them comfy, warm, and dry, and prevent them from slipping outside and at work. Finding new ways to do that is their favorite kind of innovation around here.
Care & Repair
All KEEN water sandals (both leather and polyester webbing upper) are machine washable on a gentle cycle, in cold water and with a mild detergent. Please allow to air dry. For leather boots, shoes use a nubuck leather cleaner and conditioner. For footwear made of synthetic materials - soap and cold water. To remove excess dirt or to spot clean, use a stiff brush or soft cloth.
