Renowned for its breathtaking scenery and challenging routes, this event promises to push your limits and test your endurance in one of the UK’s most spectacular Skyrunning race routes. Entries open at 10:00 GMT on Tuesday, 22nd August. Don’t miss out on the chance to secure your place on the starting line of this exhilarating adventure!

Embrace the Challenge
If you thrive on technical trails and crave the thrill of the mountains, the SkyRun Eryri® is the event for you. However, if the thought of tackling the Snowdon SkyRace is a bit overwhelming, the Copper SkyTrail™ offers a perfect introduction to Skyrunning. With a distance of 27km and an elevation gain of 2,700m+, the Copper SkyTrail™ features challenging technical trails without the graded scramble sections, making it an ideal choice for those looking to dip their toes into the world of Skyrunning.
Essential Kit List for the Snowdon SkyRace & 14 Peaks Ultra
Due to the extreme nature of the SkyRun Eryri®, a FULL kit check will be conducted at registration before you collect your race number. Spot checks will be in operation throughout the course, and failure to carry the necessary equipment will result in IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION. Below is the mandatory kit list for the Snowdon SkyRace and the 14 Peaks Ultra:
Mandatory Kit Requirements:
- Footwear: Suitable trail running shoes are a must. Road or barefoot-style shoes are not accepted. If you’re looking for a new shoe we’d recommend the Nnormal Tomir, Hoka Mafate, Dynafit Ultra 100, Altra Mont Blanc, Inov8 TrailFly.
- Waterproof Body Cover: Jacket with taped seams and an integrated hood, and trousers with taped seams, both featuring a minimum hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm. We’d recommend the Dynafit Alpine GTX Jacket, Dynafit Alpine Wp Trousers, Keela Storm Jacket, Ronhill Fortify Jacket and Trousers
- Survival Bag: Not a blanket. We’d recommend the Lifesystems Mountain Thermal Bag
- First Aid Kit: Minimum contents: sterile bandage, cohesive bandage, safety pins, and plasters. A suitable first aid kit can be pre-ordered or bought at the event store. We’d recommend the Lifesystems Light and Dry MICRO First Aid Kit or the Lifesystems Light and Dry Nano First Aid Kit
- Navigation Tools: Map (supplied at registration), physical compass (digital/watch not accepted), and the ability to use both effectively. We recommend the Silva Expedition 4 Compass, Silva Compass Expedition or the Silva Compass Classic
- Whistle we’d suggest the Lifesystems Hurricane Whistle
- Mobile Phone
- Headtorch: With sufficient light to navigate in darkness, plus spare batteries. We’d recommend the Silva Free 2000 M Headtorch, Silva Trail Runner, Black Diamond Sprinter, Black Diamond Distance 1500 Headlamp
- Fluid Capacity: Ability to carry at least 1L of fluid. We’d recommend the Camelbak Quick Stow Flask 500ml/17oz
- Warm Hat and Gloves: A ‘Buff’ is acceptable. We’ve quite the collection of Buffs here and recommend the Dynafit Gloves and Mitts
- Waterproof Bag: Carrier bag acceptable although a Lifeventure Dry Bag would be a better shout, containing a spare thermal long-sleeve top.
- Emergency Fuel: Minimum of 400kcal. Take your pick from our range of Torq products here
Additional Recommended Equipment
While the above items are mandatory, the following are recommended to ensure a comfortable and safe race experience:
- £20 Cash: For emergencies or additional needs.
- Spare Warm Hat or ‘Buff’ and Gloves: Also carried in a waterproof bag for emergency use or at aid stations.
- Synthetic Insulation Mid-Layer: To keep warm at aid stations.
- Additional Lightweight Waterproof Gloves
- Hiking/Running Poles: Note that poles must NOT be used on Tryfan North Ridge and Crib Goch scrambles. But for everywhere else the Leki FX one is the… one!
- Running Vest: Although not essential we strongly recommend a running vest to comfortably carry all your essentials. We have running vest from Dynafit, Silva and Camelbak to choose from
